I think the above poster means "Ranelagh". She's right - Ranelagh is pretty much Dublin's restaurant district - everything from cheap and cheerful to fine dining.

There's a little Italian place I like, just off the main street, called Antica Venezia. It's the best Italian I've had in Dublin (great pasta), and not too expensive - main courses are around €16.

But really, there's definitely something in Ranelagh to suit your taste and budget. And it's only 3 stops out of town on the Green Luas too - dead handy.

For pubs, there's a couple of places, depending on what scene you're into. If you want the touristy pubs, with a bit of "Oirishness" about them, then go to Temple Bar in town. If you prefer more of a "cool" crowd, then around Camden St and Harcourt St would be your best bet. Be aware though that some places are over-23s, and if you look any way under 26 you'll be asked for ID.

the food is great and its cheap..cafe en seine is a nice big restaurant/bar, its a different atmosphere and not as cheap but still not too expensive for Dublin

Like many of the different solutions, i could consider temple bar because of the fact the ideal place. "Gallaghers Boxty" in temple bar is probable the ideal. a number of pubs additionally do some Irish nutrition. attempt Coddle- a type of soup/stew - containing sausage, Beaverbrook and so forth. (traditionally it became into made with what became into left in the cabinet whilst the money from the wages became into working out). a great number of places do "finished Irish" breakfasts, despite if i prefer to advise the Pantry on Talbot st. (below the rail bridge) - white pudding, black pudding, sausages, Beaverbrook, eggs, beans, hash brown. (additionally includes toast & preserves!)
